Blackjack, also referred to as twenty-one, is one of the most established casino card games, very popular all around the world. If you’re not yet familiar with all the rules of the game, you've come to the perfect site! Here we explain the game and clearly list all the rules you’ll need to know to get started (note: rules differ among casinos). So here are the basics… The aim of the game is to finish up with a hand that’s value is closer to 21 than the hand of the dealer, without ever going over 21. As you are only playing against the dealer, there is no need to worry about what other players around the table are doing. The dealer does not make decision or have his own strategy, but instead just responds to the requests of the players. Because of this, you are free to let the dealer and other players see your cards. You can even ask advice from the dealers and other players if you’re new to the game.
Card Values: The cards in blackjack are valued as follows:
- Cards 2-10 are simply valued according to the number stated on the card.
- Face cards (Jacks, Queens, and Kings) each have the value of 10.
- Ace cards can be valued at 1 or 11, depending on the player’s choice.
